Carol to useKia ora

I am very fortunate to be the leader of a group of dedicated staff who live our vision statement ‘To Be Better Than Before’ 'Kia Rangitira te tū'. Growing great citizens to contribute positively to their communities. Our school has a warm, welcoming environment and we value parents as partners in their children’s education. We believe strongly that every child deserves a high quality education that will prepare them to be confident, connected, life-long learners in the 21st century.

Excellent Literacy and Numeracy teaching and learning programmes are a focus at our school. We use good quality data, well researched and current teaching practice to make sure that students are meeting their personal learning goals. Our school has a strong emphasis on developing the whole child and on hauora and wellbeing. This includes social skills and the ability to be good citizens of our school and local community. We offer many opportunities for this learning to take place.

Our 3R’ wellbeing expectations of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility underpin the culture of our school and teachers and students model these behaviours both in the classroom and the playground. In the classroom, our learning expectations of Challenge, Curiosity and Connection are fostered through activities that are tailored to student needs and designed to support your child’s achievement and acquisition of important learning skills.

Our school is well resourced and maintained, classrooms are vibrant spaces where student’s learning is celebrated and we are governed by a supportive and skilled Board of Trustees.

I would welcome the opportunity to show you around our wonderful school and to discuss our learning programmes. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.

Kind regards

Carol Bevis, Principal (B Ed, Dip Deaf Ed, PG Dip Educational Leadership)
